Getting veneers usually takes two to three visits. First, Dr. Sepi plans your new smile with you. Next, a thin layer of enamel is gently removed under local anesthesia, impressions are taken, and temporary veneers may be placed. When your custom veneers are ready, they are checked for fit and color and bonded in place.
Traditional veneers require removing a thin layer of enamel, usually about half a millimeter, so the veneer sits naturally. Because that enamel does not grow back, veneers are considered a permanent treatment. The tooth underneath stays healthy as long as you keep brushing, flossing, and seeing your dentist.
